Adobe has unveiled its third AI tool as part of the Firefly family, which will enable users to quickly experiment with different colour schemes for illustrations. The “recolor vectors” tool works by uploading a vector graphic file, such as a logo, illustration or mandala, and generates four new illustrations, each with a unique combination of colours. The tool can be guided by sample images, such as galaxies, taxis and neon lights, that have pre-existing colours users like. The tool was trained on Adobe’s library of imagery, ensuring there are no issues with copyright or trademark problems.
With the help of generative AI, Firefly has the ability to automatically alter the photo or image that a user is working on by creating a paintbrush based on something already present in the image. This new offering from Adobe arrives at a crucial moment for both Adobe and AI. Adobe recently acquired Figma, a design tool, for $20 billion and plans to incorporate features from other products into Figma.
